Dave Ramsey will be in SA on April 12. If you're not familiar with him, he's a Christian financial counselor that travels the country helping people get out of debt, develop good spending and saving habits and learn how to "Live Like No One Else." I am currently taking his course on "Financial Peace University" but his one-day event usually sells out quickly. If anyone is interested in joining me that day, the cost is $32 (online) which will give you wonderful ways to earn, save, and spend your hard-earned money. It's really enjoyable to see and worth every penny. If you're interested, you can see his web site, www.daveramsey.com, click on Live Events (lower right-hand corner) and sign up. I'm including a description below for your convenience. Anyone going can certainly carpool when the time.
omes."The Dave Ramsey Show"
Dave Ramsey offers life-changing financial advice as host of the nationally syndicated radio program, "The Dave Ramsey Show," which is broadcast on more than 300 radio stations throughout the United States to over 3 million listeners each week . The three-hour live radio talk show focuses on life, love, and relationships, and how they happen to revolve around money. Dave says, "It's where life happens...caller after caller.
Financial Topics
Dave includes special theme hours on the show that are very popular among his listeners. Examples of these theme hours include: kids and money, cars and money, small business, and more. Dave also has "Debt Free Fridays" where listeners call in to celebrate paying off their last debt using his Total Money Makeover Plan. Listeners also cut up credit cards on air, which Dave calls "plasectomies."
Talk Radio Online
Listeners can access "The Dave Ramsey Show" LIVE online everyday. Dave says he picks up the online streaming bill so his fans can listen to the best in talk radio live anywhere they can get to a computer. Listeners can also access archives of the show on the website.
Podcasting has become the rage recently, which allows people to download mp3 files of talk radio shows to their iPod or other mp3 players and listen to studio quality talk radio at their convenience.
Dave has responded by podcasting one hour of the show for free each day for his fans. One of the thank-you letters is from an American soldier stationed in Iraq who can now listen to his favorite talk radio show each day.

Boerne Community Theatre
- A few of us took a little trip to Boerne
in January to try out the community
theatre and it got rave reviews.
- There is another show coming up
soon so I've reserved 10 seats at the
Boerne Community theatre for:
- Thursday, April 3 - 7:30 pm.
- Tickets for groups are $12
I can add more people if needed.
The problem is: I need to collect your
money starting on Sunday, March 16
through March 23. They can add more
people to our group but I want us to sit
in a "block" if possible. If you are
interested in going, please bring your
money ASAP. I've included a synopsis
of the play so that you can read up on it. Let me know if you're interested so I can start figuring out how many seats we will need (only 84 seats available per show). I have to have your money before you are registered.
- We could also meet for dinner at
the Hungry Horse in Boerne.
- Dinner could be about 5:30 and
the show starts at 7:30.

The goal for online fund raising is $1000.00 for Oak Hills but our entire team goal is $5000.00 which is about $160-170 per individual. So let's meet or better still exceed our goal in the fight againts hunger.
Funds raised will support the San Antonio Food bank and work efforts in Burkino, Faso Africa which is where Oak Hills missionaries Archie and Mandy Chankin. They have selected a community which is east of them as one which receives very little support and in grave need of development.
Picture Time- Registration Forms
We will be taking a group picture for the CROSSING paper. So look for the table marked Oak Hills when you arrive at the park. Turn in your registration forms to me at the table. I want to get a tally of funds raised before we submit to Church World Service. Be sure to tear off the top sheet and give that to me- from the registration envelope.
